breve explicación:

en ingles es necesario poner

i' m carpenter or i am carpenter
pero en español no se necesecita decirlo asi:
yo soy carpintera, con solo que digas o que se traduzca soy carpintera es suficiente, por eso en ingles no se puede omitir i´m o el i am.

por eso cuando se traduce algo de ingles al español pueden haber varias interpretaciones de un mismo parrafo o texto, por ello no se asusten si un compañero de clase por ejemplo traduce las cosas diferente o con palabras distintas

Recuerden que en una pregunta cuando es en español cierra y abre signo de interrogación en ingles solo cierra no se pone abre ningún signo de interrogación este es incorrecto. Siendo en español expresamente necesario

Regla general:
El verbo “to be” en pasado se traduce normalmente como: yo era o yo estaba. Aunque conserva todos los usos que vimos en el presente

La irregularidad esta en la primera persona “i was” y la tercera del singular “he was, she was, it was”

Cuando se usa con there, significa habia o habian

Ejemplos:

there was a house: habia una casa

there were two houses: habian dos casas

* se usa para describir sucesos del pasado, asi pues va frecuentemente acompañada de adverbios de tiempo

Expresiones de Tiempo:

yesterday: ayer
yesterday morning: ayer en la mañana
yesterday afternoon: ayer en la tarde
yesterday evening: ayer en la noche
last night: anoche
last year: el año pasado
last week: la semana pasada
last weekend: el fin de semana pasado
last month: el mes pasado

three days ago: hace tres dias
two weeks ago: hace dos semanas
a year ago: hace un año

Ejs: de negacion
Forma 1: midog is not black
Forma 2: mi dog’s not black
Forma 3: mi dog isn’t black
En la forma dog nos damos cuenta que es se refiere a un solo perro por is y debido a ello tampoco debemos pensar que se refiere al perro de alguien por el apostrofe

Ellos en estados unidos podrian decir:
Jhon and carlos aren’t friends

Para Nosotros no seria conveniente
